You need to provide one more column which counts the grouping, let's call that column as, "COUNTER" in dataframe.
Like this:
df['COUNTER'] =1 #initially, set that counter to 1.
group_data = df.groupby(['Alphabet','Words'])['COUNTER'].sum() #sum function
print(group_data)
