Instead of COALESCE(a.addressid,0) AS addressexists, use CASE:
CASE WHEN a.addressid IS NOT NULL
THEN 1
ELSE 0
END AS addressexists
or the simpler:
(a.addressid IS NOT NULL) AS addressexists
