How does this giant regex work?
I recently found the code below in one of my directories, in a file called doc.php . The file functions or links to a file manager. It's quite nicely done. Basically, it lists all the files in the current directory, and it lets you change directories.

Regex replace uppercase with lowercase letters

replace:
\L$1$2 --> will convert all letters in $1 and $2 to lowercase
BUT
\l$1$2 --> will only convert the first letter of $1 to lowercase and leave everything else as is
The same goes for uppercase with \U and \u
