... Just a quick note - I tried this with a much longer string (~5000 chars) and CRC32 was slower than MD5 and SHA1 on my machine (i7-6650U, 16GB). CRC32 - 1.7s , MD5 - 1.4s, SHA1 - 1.5s. Always test for yourself.
