How to redirect output of an already running process [duplicate]

Firstly find the PID of the process:
$ ps aux | grep cat
rjc 6760 0.0 0.0 1580 376 pts/5 S+ 15:31 0:00 cat
Now check the file handles it has open:
$ ls -l /pro...
Can grep show only words that match search pattern?
Is there a way to make grep output "words" from files that match the search expression?
