... @J.F.Sebastian You are correct -- thanks for pointing that out. There doesn't seem to be an elegant one-liner for this as a "month" is not a constant time period. You can do something ugly by importing calendar and using calendar.mdays[d.month-1] and more ugliness in a min() function...

I find that the easiest way to do this is to use the outputFile() method from the fs-extra module.
Almost the same as writeFile (i.e. it overwrites), except that if the parent directory does not exist, it's created. options are what you'd pass to fs.writeFile().
