The Rails 3 routing API is super wicked. To write the routes for your API, as per your requirements above, you need just this:

Android Studio marks R in red with error message “cannot resolve symbol R”, but build succeeds
In every project I've tried to create in Android Studio, all usages of R are marked in red with the error message "cannot resolve symbol R", but the compilation succeeds and the application runs. This is really annoying, as it blocks auto-completion and shows huge red waved lines all over my code.

A more simple solution just type sudo fuser -k 8000/tcp.
This should kill all the processes associated with port 8000.

For osx users you can use sudo lsof -t -i tcp:8000 | xargs kill -9
