Also, you wouldn't have to monkey patch, since the Rails team did it for you!

Enumerable.Empty does not create an object per call thus putting less load on GC.
If the code is in low-throughput location, then it boils down to aesthetic considerations though.

Facebook App: localhost no longer works as app domain

The trick is to update the etc/hosts file this way:
127.0.0.1 mydomain.com
Then on the Facebook App's settings, type [http://] mydomain.com, without the "[" and "]"
